TMX: Maple affirmed that it will continue with its bid for the exchange group despite TMX having a falling share price. Maple spokesman Peter Block said that “Maple does continue to work with the regulators for its bid for TMX, while at the same time having discussions with TMX” and “TMX shareholders”.

ICE was issued a US patent from the United States Patent and Trademark Office for ICE eConfirm, its electronic trade matching and confirmation technology.

CME will delay the launch of CNY futures until October, from the original plan to launch it last week. The reason for the delay was because customer firms requested for more time to adapt back-office systems to accommodate the structure of the new futures.

CME declared a force majeure, a legal clause allowing companies to miss scheduled shipments due to circumstances beyond their control, for heating oil shipments into New York for August due to Hurricane Irene. The order gives an extension of five days from the originally scheduled date to make deliveries.

Green Exchange (GreenX) commenced trading of its California Carbon Allowance (CCA) futures, with the first trade agreed between Vitol and Enserco, and was cleared via CME ClearPort on August 29.

PSE will introduce a new online trading facility for trading participants (TPs). The Online Service Bureau (OSB) service aims to offer online trading services for TPs which can also be offered to investors.

Thailand Futures Exchange (TFEX) appointed KT Zmico Securities Co. as market maker for gold futures and SET50 options, and also appointed Classic Gold Futures Co. as a market maker for gold and silver futures, beginning September 1.
